Many years ago he was adopted by a Mohawk Elder and given the name "Soaring Owl". Richard became a brother in the Iroquois Nation. Richard began his musical journey as a former member of the award winning New England Pow Wow circuit drum "First Light". It was at this time Richard was awakened to the sound and spirit of the Native American Flute. In the evening while sitting quietly at his campfire he would take out his flute and begin to play and weave his own musical tapestry. Today Richard has evolved into an extremely talented professional musician and performer naturally responsive to the gift of playing the Native American flute, he is also taught himself to play the guitar. Combined with these talents emerged a multi faceted musician, well seasoned in almost all aspects of the musical realm. Richard excels as Composer, Singer/Songwriter and Story Teller transforming the story of Kokopelli to music.
Add to this list of accolades Richard has mastered the Art of composing and mixing Digital Musical Compositions.
Completing the circle to round out Richard’s career talent is the professional ability to Produce and Direct music in the Post-Production Process in the Studio completing this very talented musical package. To his credit Richard has written, performed and produced three CD's to date.
