David Beaulieu was born in a small town in New Hampshire, where he still lives today. Like most people of Native descent, the fact of his Native heritage was hidden.  About seven years ago, David began his search of his family tree.  After some time he found what he was looking for.  Both Great Grandmothers were Native Americans.  One was of Ojibwa descent and the other Abenaki.  After the discovery he attended a local Pow Wow, where he was first introduced to the Native American Courting Flute.  It was love at first sound.  The beautiful and inspiring music now fills his home and heart.  Influenced by many Native artists, for the haunting and thought provoking sound, David found his own style and place.     Creating his songs in his home along with his loving pet, Harley Son of Eagle Bear, who’s vocals inspired the song on the CD “Owl and Eagle Bear”.    David was given his Native name five years ago.  An Elder gave him the name… Searching Owl. So, may the music fill your hearts as it does mine. Let it bring joy and hope to you as it does to me. My Great Grandmother was an Eastern Woodland Native. On the journey of learning about native crafts and culture I was given the wonderful gift of my name by an elder. Honoring the heritage that my Great Grandmother could not.
